Moving house can be a stressful process.
the post office offer a service to change your address. This can take up to 10 working days. This service will redirect all your mail to your new address.
You will also need to let other companies know about your change of address, this includes:
- Water supplier
- Gas provider
- Electric supplier
- Home phone, broadband
- TV licensing
- DVLA
- Bank
- Doctors surgery

the day before the removal
Prepare a box/ boxes that you will need during the move and for the first couple of days. This can be toiletries, medicines etc.
Empty and defrost the fridge freezer.
Disassemble all furniture that you are moving unless the removals company is carrying this out for you.

the day of removal
- Check your entire property to ensure that you haven’t left anything behind.
- If you’re using a removal company ensure that they have your moving address and your phone number.
- Check your meter readings.
